I read a lot of stuff every day. Here are 8 articles that I think are worth reading if you are interested in getting healthier.
First up, is an article from Precision Nutrition about three key strategies for having healthy food available when you need it. This is great for people who think they are too busy to eat healthy. Which is a lot of people today.
Next up is another article from PN titled “When the scale sucks: 7 better ways to know if your nutrition plan is working.” This falls in line with things like measuring your waste and neck every month to try and measure body fat percentage and see if your plan is working. Since muscle weighs more than fat, you can see the scale not move, or move in the wrong direction, and you will see positive body comp changes.
The Athlete Daily had a Q&A with Nick Shaw of Renaissance Periodization. Nick covers some basics that are good to know, especially if you are just starting on this journey.
John Romaniello had a blog post about the nutrition mistake you keep making. While it is one mistake, it really talks to a lot more things as it really is a thought process that leads to the mistake.
Fast Company had an article about 8 productivity experts talking about the benefits of their morning routines. I am a big believer in having a morning routine that sets you up for a good day. I would suggest that you look at your morning routine and what things you can add to it to get your day started off on the right foot.
Breaking Muscle has an article entitled “The only diet that works”. Spoiler alert: the answer isn’t really a diet.
CrossFit Invictus has a blog post on the three step process to turn a bad habit good. As we get towards New Years when people want to make a change for the better, this is a good read.
And finally, Lifehacker has a post about how to get rich tricking people into buying overpriced weight loss shakes. Nothing drives me nuts more than people pushing supplements or quick weight loss scams on people that desperately want to loss weight. Please don’t read this and start ripping people off.
